Aaron Thomas

Aaron Mahlon is a photographer with a unique point of view on the human experience. His philosophy is etched into his perspective by a divine creativity gifted to him through visual expression. Having explored 33 countries, his view of life is based on a variety of visual experiences. He is a man who immerses himself in his craft, taking care to appreciate the details in images that he creates.

Aaron connects to photography as a visual expression to artistically display the subject of his visual inspiration, extracting the hidden qualities uncovering a deeper view into his inner being; each photograph has its own life. With personality, character, spirit, and soul, which speak with a silent voice, that calls Aaron to its hidden existence. As such, Aaron quotes one of his most revered influences, “I don’t take a photograph, a photograph takes me.”  Henry Cartier Bresson.  His compositions speak to him visually, emotionally and poetically. Photography to Aaron is poetry that he loves, with subjects such as humanity, positive motivation, and self-improvement through his newly founded photography as philosophy of life.

As Aaron is inspired with the life of his visual inspirations, the complexities and simplicities of the human experience will be artfully blended with the playful nature of light and shadow, highlighting its true essence. The result is an image that is living with its on soul, in a specific moment of light and time. Aaron quotes “My goal is to use my camera like a painter uses his brush, as a tool to give birth to my vision through meticulous photographic and print processing techniques.”  Following in another one of the honorable masters footsteps Aaron lives by a quote from Ansel Adams “The negative is the equivalent of the composer’s score, and the print the performance.”
